Kim Litwiler was the daughter of a United States Air Force soldier which led her to live in various parts of the United States. During her father’s last deployment, Kim lived in Maine where she attended Thornton Academy, graduating with high honors in Mathematics. Upon graduation, Kim attended The University of Southern Maine where she studied Child Development. While working through college Kim became a Youth and Family Counselor at Sweetser, a home for children with special needs and/or emotional disorders who were in state custody. During this time, Kim’s responsibilities included creating the curriculum, teaching in the classroom and running the accounting operations.
In 2007, Kim’s husband joined the United States Army where they were stationed at Fort Hood in Texas. Shortly after arriving at Fort Hood, Kim became the FRG Leader (Family Readiness Group) for her husband’s company. Through weekly meetings with the Battalion commander, Kim organized and executed on activities which included, helping base families with any issues or concerns while their spouse was deployed in Iraq, fundraisers, family events, awards, training, and shipping packages to our deployed soldiers. Additionally, Kim handled all donations and fundraising efforts associated with caring for families whose soldier were on deployment.
For her determination and hard work, Kim received the Yellow Rose Award from the Governor of Texas, which “recognizes outstanding Texas women for their significant contributions to their communities in the preservation of history, the accomplishments of the present, and the building of the future.”
In 2012, Kim and her family relocated to Florida where she has been responsible for the finances, bookkeeping, billing, customer relations, taxes, and community relations for her husband’s businesses. Apart from her background in childcare, business and community involvement, Kim is most proud of being a stay at home mother where she is able to homeschool her thirteen-year-old daughter and be deeply involved in her two daughters commitment to all-star cheerleading. Amazing staff!! They take the time to give each child one on one attention to help them with technique and they show them exactly what they are doing wrong and the correct way to position so they can land it correctly. I am super impressed with how well they teach. My daughter has never had this training before from any other place. They are encouraging and fun, they never yell or get angry and you can tell they really love the kids. Super professional ...love love love! Would recommend to anyone. - Lisa
